Video Establishes Your Expertise
Isn’t it amazing how you can learn just about anything through video?
At some point or another we’ve all looked up a YouTube tutorial for things like how to replace a garbage disposal, or a bad habit; how to build a business, or build a plane. It’s all out there, and more.
What you may not realize is that you have a huge opportunity here! As a business, you have a vast amount of knowledge in your area. In this informational age, potential customers are actively seeking out the knowledge that someone like you may have. Where are they searching for this golden information? Here’s a hint: probably not in a phonebook.
People are looking through the Internet on their computers, tablets, and mobile devices – and they want answers immediately.
People want answers to their problems using as little effort as possible. And nine times out of ten, people will look up your website before they give you a call. So, while you can have great blog articles, reading as a customer is usually a little too labor-intensive and time-consuming. A video, on the other hand, is a much better solution because people enjoy videos more than reading a website, article or blog. Video is also a very engaging way to educate.
By creating videos that answers people’s questions or giving them really valuable information, you change from a common vendor to a valuable, expert resource.
Not sure what to post about? Try listing out the top ten questions that you find yourself answering most frequently – perhaps on a daily basis. The information that you possess is the key to a customer’s problem.
Let’s say for example that you’re a financial advisor, and you have a wealth of knowledge to share… pun intended. Create several short, thirty-second videos giving tips like how much money or what percentage of their paycheck people should be saving; investment strategies for the current market; the difference between a Roth IRA and Traditional IRA; and many other topics. Boom! Answers given. Customers helped.
Viewers may not be itching to buy at the exact moment they’re watching your videos; but in time, when they are ready, you will be at the top of their list as an expert in your field, and you can rest assured that there’s a good chance that they’ll reach out to you.
