This October, Optimum Productions worked on a neat event video for the CVC (Corporate Volunteer Council) of Atlanta.

The CVC supports and brings together local businesses that are “passionate about volunteerism.” Each year they hold what they call their IMPACT Awards, which recognizes organizations that have given back to the community in superior ways.

OP filmed the event from start to finish and created a highlight event video. We also churned out a few short pieces highlighting the winners of the event. Our cameras of choice? Our Canon 7D and Panasonic HVX200.

There were some neat companies attending the event. Cox Enterprises, Cisco Systems, AT&T, Coca Cola, Georgia Natural Gas, Macy’s, Turner Broadcasting, and more.

It was very inspirational to be in a room full of people and corporations who were dedicated to being involved in their community and giving back. Home Depot, for example, was talking about how they are building temporary housing for returning veterans to help them get their feet back on the ground.

All of these businesses were running neat campaigns, and not just donating money. They truly understand and embrace their role of corporate responsibility and stress focus on bringing positive change to the world.

After leaving the event it made us question ourselves, too. What is OP doing to help make a better world? How do you do as an individual or as an organization give back to your community?
